To ease my tortured mind, I had to take up some mindless knitting, so I started a baby blankie in pure garter stitch, but knitted on the bias (it may turn into a throw; depends on how long I need knitting therapy). I was able to pick up some Lion Brand Homespun and Kool Wool on clearance and smuggle it into the house (my husband suggested I put a bying freeze on my yarn obsession, but who could pass up a sale?!). Anyway, the colors are very fun. I'm calling this the "mango blankie." Went to see The Matrix Reloaded today. We arrived early and of course I brought my knitting along. As we were all packed into the theater like sardines, my seat-mates became very interested in the knitting process and began reminiscing about their grandmothers. It was a very fun conversaion and I hope some of them were inspired to take up the needles. By the way, after watching Neo and his buddies in the movie, you would think they could download some knitting know-how and knit up some decent sweaters!
